“You pose, they draw, and together we create art”

November has seen a surge in momentum for pre-production on Nude Triumphant as we head towards the end of the year. From studio to kitchen table to recording booth, here’s what we’ve been up to…

Continuing our collaboration with Morley College, we launched Moving The Image, a podcast for the new online radio station Morley Radio. Each month, Leo will go behind the scenes at Figuration with those who inspire our creative work. In episode one, you can hear Leo and Abigail talking about The Foundling and introducing Nude Triumphant as their second collaboration. In the second episode, Leo chats with Roy and Maya about how their experiences of life modelling led directly to Nude Triumphant and the forthcoming Starkers Academy Ball. Keep your ear close to the ground - or, at least, our website - for further programming!

We also kicked off our collaboration with videographer Angelika Winnett. She will be documenting the what goes on behind the scenes during production, capturing the processes and experimentation, as well as budding new creative relationships that we hope will last long into the future. Angelika filmed a production meeting with Leo, Roy, Ko and Maya discussing character design, recording voice tests and painting from life.

And, last but not least, we completed another animation test for our first model character, Mat. Take a look below. So things are shaping up - who else is excited to see what happens next? Again, watch this space for more exciting developments taking place in December - we’ll see you after Christmas!
