Rebel Portraits
Whether we are transforming our future, persevering against the odds or defying convention, there’s a bit of rebel in all of us.
Inspired by the British Library exhibition, Marvellous and Mischievous: Literature’s Young Rebels, we invited participants to reflect on and reveal their true selves in this two-day portrait masterclass led by Leo Crane. On day one, we worked with model Roy Joseph Butler to explore techniques of portraiture, colour and composition to create visual narratives. On day two, participants created three self-portraits in their chosen medium, designed to convey a personal story. Below you can see some of the results.
