Meditations on JG Ballard’s A Drowned World
Soon It Would Be Too Hot. is a series of work responding to JG Ballard's prescient 1962 novel The Drowned World in which Graham explores the parallels between the post-apocalyptic environment Ballard depicts and our increasingly uncertain future.
Graham is a London-based artist whose practise encompasses drawing, painting and printmaking. He studied at Edinburgh College of Art (2001-2003) and is currently a student on the MA Painting programme at the Royal College of Art. He is also a recent recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant (2020). Previous exhibitions include RBA Rising Stars (2019), John Moores Painting Prize (2018), Columbia Threadneedle Prize (2016, 2018), John Ruskin Prize (2016) and Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize (2015).
Soon it would be too hot. resides in the gallery space at West Norwood Library & Picturehouse, curated by Figuration, and is open during the building’s usual opening times.
